SUMMER FUN! Hass practically lives on the beach. And though I make fun of him all the time about it, he's snapped the greatest of images.
This one I imagine to be a more personal shot for him. Here's what he said about it: "Like many others the girl fled with her family to Mountain Lebanon after Israeli shelling and air-strikes targeted their village in Southern Lebanon, July 2006. Also like many others, they returned on the 14th of August 2006 after cessation of fire agreement declared by the United Nations Security Council. You would not imagine the sounds of war these children had to hearand the fear they had to live within. But after all they smile and much better than those living a normal life."

"Kafiya is the symbol of the Palestinian Intifada. When people wear it, it means that either they are Arabs and are showing their backgrounds or they support the Palestinian cause."
